Exercise regularly. People in Messiah's day walked on average up to 10 miles a day.

Cut out all snack foods with hydrogenated fat, processed foods, white sugar, candy, sugar cereals and white bread; use sea salt.

Drink water. Limit coffee; drink fruit, or vegetable juices instead.

Stock up on nuts, seeds and whole grains.

Use quality olive oil and butter. Avoid margarine; Limit salad dressings and fried foods.

Choose wild caught fish and range poultry, and eat meat sparingly. Trim all visible fat from meat and remove the skin from poultry.

Limit cheese intake to small amounts of parmesan or feta cheese. Eat low-fat plain yogurt .

Cook and bake with whole-grain products. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, legumes and nuts.

Dining should be a pleasant, relaxed experience with your family and friends; a time to reduce stress.
